Key Areas of Responsibility

To promote the safeguarding of children within Health.
To develop, implement and monitor a training strategy for Health professionals which is consistent with that of both. LSCBs, the RCN & RCPCH.
To provide a forum for discussion on the health perspective of safeguarding, generating advice for named professionals to provide to their Trust.
To provide guidance on local and national issues from a health perspective informing the strategy and training programme.
To take the lead in developing policies and procedures consistent with pan-Dorset Inter-Agency Safeguarding Procedures, as they may apply to the health community.
To monitor management of SCRs and Case Audits in relation to Health agencies.
To agree pan-Dorset action plans in response to recommendations from SCRs and Case Audits.
